I have watched a few too many episodes of Law & Order. If someone helped him get a new identity, passport, driver's license, etc., he could be anywhere. As far as being recognized, a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a face covering and no one would look twice.  All those guys his age with beards look alike to me.

Maybe he traveled to the Us/Mexican boarder, mingled among the illegal aliens and has been deported. Actually, that would have been a brilliant plan. What's one among thousands?

I think that his parents definitely know where he is. How can they not be screaming and upset that he can't be found? Not normal IMO.

 

This has been weeks now. He could have changed his appearance by cutting off his beard and growing out his hair.
