When was the word "driving" replaced with the word "rolling"???

I hear it a lot and the girl on our 6:00 p.m. news just said "Imagine rolling up to a grate in the road and. . . . . ". Well, when I first heard the start of the sentence I thought for a second she meant imagine a person rolling. . . . . . I don't like it.{#emotions_dlg.ohmy}
