The men (and women) who have fought for our country through out history, in every war, are the people I admire and respect. When the call came, they proudly went. As far as any public figure, in any field, they're not important to me. We've seen far to often what they're really made of. And it's not decency, courage, morality, or worthy of respect.

I was very disappointed when it was shown that Lance Armstrong had been cheating with drugs for years and kept lying about it. Other Americans who cheered for him probably feel the same way.

I don't "worship" anyone either, JSS; ALL human beings are frail.

Even military heroes.

There are many public figures that I admire, but in my case I would not use the word, "worship". It is tough to see them fall, especially if they're one of your role models, but they're human and are just as apt to fall as anyone else.

Nicely put, TG. Does anyone really worship celebs? No one I've ever known.

How many times do I have to say I used the wrong word? "Worship" is taken in the pure religious sense on this BB and I always forget that. I should have used the word "admire."

don't worry about it, ford.

"hero worship" is a very accepted term and most everyone knows what it means.

Sometimes the nit picking gets out of control around here.

i wouldn't put brian williams in the same category as cosby or mj. maybe dan rather but not the other 2.

brian williams may be a liar but he's not a sexual deviant. oops, "alleged" sexual deviant.

I dont worship anyone except forGod and Christ. I think anyone who works in law enforcement and served in the military shoud be respected. I greatlyadmire Chrtine Caine. Her lifes story is amazing. She has founded an organization called A21 that helps rescue woman form secks slavery. I had the privledge of hearing her speak last fall and it was life changing for me. I also admire Lisa Harper. She also had a history if abuse. i also repesct Billy Graham. Not a fan of his son.
