There are many admirable people in the world, from doctors and nurses who heal the sick to courageous leaders of companies and countries and those in many other walks of life. What I object to most is the "everybody does it" refrain whenever some previously admired person is shown to be totally or partially (in the case of Williams) unworthy of respect.

We should have heroes and villains, depending on the actions of an individual. And our timeless values should NEVER change, no matter how many times the excuse-makers tell us "everybody does it." Sorry, but that simply ISN'T true.
