Hello Pet lovers, I am new to the boards. I have considered many times joining various discussions but wasn't sure I would feel "at home". What I have read on this pet lover board, you all seem geniunely concerned about one another and your love for pets warms my heart. My DH and I lost our beloved dachshund, Heidi almost 3 years ago. She was 12 years old and had congestive heart failure. Since we don't have any children, we considered this angel as our "dog"ter. She was extremely close to me, since my husband worked nights early in our marriage. To this day, it still hurts and I talk about her everyday. To cope, I always say that she is part of God's hospitality ministry at rainbow bridge. This way, it puts a smile on my face daily. We are pet lovers and really want to adopt another dog in the future. I know right now, I am still not ready. I know that it is an individual decision to know when to welcome a new furbaby to the family; however, it feels good talk with those who know how you feel. Thank you for allowing me to share and become a part of this wonderful group. If anyone has any words of wisdom to know when is the right time to consider adoption, we would appreciate it.
