My husband's father passed away last month. His oldest brother is the executor of the estate. The estate will be divided up among the 4 brothers, and his dad may have allocated money for the grandchildren.
I have no clue about the value of his estate, except he has a house that will I guess have to be sold. It is presently being rented, as it was to provide extra funds for my father-in-law's residence in assisted living.
This is not about expecting a windfall inheritance! I am wondering when you should expect to hear something from the executor. There is one brother who I think took advantage of his father in the past. It really bugs me to think he could do anything like that again.
When should my husband expect to hear something from his brother, the executor? Have never had experience with this stuff before.
