@SilleeMee wrote:

When I went white water rafting for the very first time, down a stretch of the Colorado River called Cataract Canyon.

When I touched the back of a gray whale in the Sea of Cortez.

When I climbed to the top of Pikes Peak and saw the 'world' from up there.

NOW THAT is what I call AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I believe yours beat mine!!!!!!

So many--vacations in Hawaii, honeymoon in Quebec City, New Orleans for Mardi Gras are just a few.

Long ago and far away, when this was still legal.....

Took a bunch of Girl Scouts camping, high on a cliffs and hills.

We leaders skipped lunches to have sole use of a rope swing that went way way way out over a valley.  I'm talking breathtaking and scream inducing.

The little girls were so puzzled, didn't realize we were just big kids!

As a young nurse, the first delivery I observed.
On African safari, Africa is a transformative experience
Visiting an elephant reserve and caring for them in Thailand. The beauty and sensitivity of these magnificent creatures is just incredible. My elephant had a sense of humor and the cutest little sound from such a giant & a very picky eater. Unforgettable

Re: When did you feel really alive?

When my husband's cousin's girlfriend was killed in an auto accident.  She was driving a Volkswagen and the seatbelt cut into her liver and she bled to death internally.  For months I was so thankful to be doing the laundry at the laundromat or other tasks like that, which I usually hated.  For some reason that particular death hit us all very hard and we realized how fortunate we were.
