Has there been an event in your life that made you feel alive as you'd never felt before?
Oddly enough, there were 3 and they all came as a result of a baseball team that I normally despise, my own Seattle Mariners.
When Edgar Martinez set the record for double-plays, I was there. The crown yelled and screamed for I don't know how long and I was yelling and screaming and cheering right along with them.
When the M's tied the record for wins in 2001, at 116: the crowd went utterly insane. We all danced and sang and cheered and stomped our feet for nearly a half hour after the game was over.
(I even said a little prayer of thanks to God for letting me be alive to be there.)
One 4th of July my son took me to a Mariners game--a rare, at-home game on Indepence Day--and I saw Ichiro rounding 3rd base for home. I've never seen anyone run that fast and I'm not 100% sure his feet were touching the ground.
I felt so fortunate to be there, that I was alive to see something I never expected. And these moments made me feel so alive...

I grew up in the San Fernando valley in Southern California. When I was 16 we would go to Zuma Beach and boogie board in the summer and go skiing at Mammoth Mt in the winter. I was blessed.

Nancy Drew, I grew up in LA and I remember Zuma Beach!
Those were the days.
Now I'm up here in the NW and I SO miss going to the beach. My son grew up here and I'm so sorry he's never had the experience of the warm sun, the blue water, and the sun on his skin. I especially miss the salty smell of the ocean.

Since you are talking about sports. Hubby and I had season tickets to Penguin hockey years ago. During the playoffs 2009 we almost broke the bank with the ticket prices. Best money ever spent. To see and be there with the fans and all of the excitement of the games, it truly was an experience I will never forget.

Whenever I attended a Rolling Stones concert. Everyone happy dancing and singing. Always made me come alive.

Since I cannot recall a time in my life where I haven't felt "really alive", I would say now. I try to fill the rest of my monents here on Earth with as much joy and productivity as I can muster each day.

A few years ago we went on a trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone (we had never been out west before). Taking a float trip down the Snake River and also just taking in the breathtaking views of the mountains where the air felt so fresh and clear made me really feel alive at that moment.

When I went white water rafting for the very first time, down a stretch of the Colorado River called Cataract Canyon.
When I touched the back of a gray whale in the Sea of Cortez.
When I climbed to the top of Pikes Peak and saw the 'world' from up there.

Watching Stones/Queen/Springsteen concerts being in middle of the crowds dancing!
Watching Trooping of Colour- especially when members of family participating - such joy, such feeling of pride in my country.
Rugy matches at Twickenham - love the singing- love the teams - especially when we win!
This a,m, when I jumped in the pool for first water aerobics class in a year - yahoo!
