I won't buy any heavier items from QVC unless it is something I have had before and know I won't be sending back.  In my mind, what I paid for that item (shipping and handling included)..... IS my out of pocket expense.  Usually, I can wait till I need something else and get it from another website with free shipping.

I refuse to order shoes anymore from QVC, like handbags if they do not work out, the return cost is ridiculous, too much money for an item that might be sized inconsistently from vendor to vendor, IMO!

I really appreciate what HSN does. When an item is returned, they give you $5.00 spendable cash. Takes the sting out a little bit for paying the return postage.

You mean when the Q put their bait and switch shipping policy into effect? (We're cutting shipping costs (yippee) but no longer refunding outward bound shipping costs (boo) but it'll all come out to your advantage in the end).

Then when we have you all lulled into accepting no return of original shipping, we'll raise the original shipping cost and still not refund your outbound shipping.

Now, you're now on the hook for $5.00 + $6.95 for a total of $11.00 love it or not.

And funny how the "try me fee" is QVC's best kept "secret"....and the $11 is nothing compared to what handbaginistas pay....since the Q charges $12 to ship handbags in the plain ole Q carboard box....that plus the $6.95 return label fee will cost ya $19 to try out their handbags...... LOL!!!  And here's what Q customers want to do with that shipping elf....

This is NOT true in all cases.  For some light items it is the case.  But I have been taken more than once when I return something on my own only to find out the s/h is more than the return label fee would have been.

And... you're on the hook for quite a bit more if you order, say, a handbag where the shipping never did go down. It now costs you about twelve bucks to get that handbag home and seven to send it back if it doesn't work. That's almost twenty bucks for the pleasure of looking at an item... I don't know about you, but I can do better...

The s/h on both handbags and many shoes is nuts. There is no way I would ever pay that kind of a price unless it was really a bargain, including still paying the s/h.

Within the last couple of weeks I noticed the s/h on some of the Dooney bags were up to $14.97.  Most of the shoes and handbags on Q are not a good deal.  The only incentive is easy pay if you have to have it. But I refuse to overpay for something just to make payments.

HSN's shipping model is probably better than QVC's and they offer more customer incentives. Where QVC is concerned, I'm tired of supporting their 24/7 on-air, multi-channel operation by paying unfavorable shipping fees. Even if the programming were still watchable, which it pretty much isn't, I increasingly prefer to pay less when I can, so I shop more elsewhere and do less and less shopping here.

This is only if you use an HSN charge card and HSN now limits that 6 returns per year.

@stevieb I'm not sure if you know HSN lowered their s/h to the same $3.00 for clothing and they still offer half off subsequent clothing orders.  It doesn't have to be the same clothing item either.

And most of their beauty items ship for free when they are appearing live on HSN.   I'm also almost sure all their shoes ship for free.

As an aside, did anyone notice the ridiculously outrageous s/h on that FitBit TSV?  It was free that day but I noticed the s/h charge they had listed was $10.97 and that is what they are charging now.
