I think it's just stupid.

@CelticCrafter I often see that phrase on Facebook, where many fads are born (and hopefully die as well).

"That's a great first pancake."

I hate that "washed up" too

and "wiped down"

Really the only way to say something is the way I say it!😅

These things do weigh on my nerves. It is all so distressing.  Why recently I heard someone say "pregnant" instead of "with child." She said it in the afternoon, right there at the tea table!  Can you even imagine?  Woman Embarassed

@Sooner  that's funny. I grew up saying "pregnant". "with child" makes me think of Mary.

What I don't like is when a woman says "we are pregnant". Really?

Kinda like "She fell down".  As opposed to fell up?

A person can fall up the steps.

A person can fall while going up the stairs...they don't fall up.

I agree. "Cook up some steak" and "type up a document."  It's an unnecessary word but I do hear it used like that.

These ones. Can't stand it. Also shortened words of today like foodie, hoodie, cardi, vacay. Can't take the time to say the whole word? Sounds childish to me.

OK @frenchie, ya got me!  What is the proper form of hoodie?  Instead of saying that I like hoodies, should I say I like hooded jackets, hooded sweatshirts and hooded coats?  Seems cumbersome to me.

@CelticCrafter

I've honestly never heard this one.  Could it be regional?

@shoesnbags

The “and go” is used all the time on social media, especially FB.

“Tell me your favorite go-to meals. And go. “

I must admit that phrase does annoy me. 😂 I’m not usually a stickler for phrases and grammar when people are trying to convey their thoughts.

Thanks, @bikerbabe .  That explains it - I'm not on FB.
