@sophiamarie wrote:@Kachina624 No reason to get snarky. I have no idea what you are even talking about. And no, there is not always a reason for threads to be closed if they don't give us a reason.
So, I just did a search on my name to find the thread and I can't find it. Maybe I just didn't go back far enough. It's really not that important - just curious.
It was about someone's grandma wanting to move from one state to another. The thread said "this thread is closed for commenting" the last time I looked, I think yesterday. I don't know the name of it but I think I would recognize it.
Anyway, my question was - is it "legal" for someone to page the OP of that thread (I remember her name) and then ask her how things are working out. I didn't see any posts "poofed" and the thread looked harmless to me.
Thx in advance to those with helpful info.
@sophiamarie When a thread is deleted, all the thread associated with it are also deleted so search no more.

good, i'm glad you found it. i think the op has had a really long day with that thread. i hope things work out for her.
all the best.

We do have people who come in and mess around and redo older threads and unless you see the "opening date" you might think it's a current new posting. I think in part it's to help clean up the boards.

@Kachina624, I think you are confusing Moved (a/k/a poofed) threads with threads closed for commenting.
@Marp There's a reason for both and I don't have them confused. Sometimes they're moved because they comments are inappropriate and they don't want them to remain. Sometimes they leave them but close posting because there's nothing else constructive to be said.
@Kachina624, mea culpa. When you said, "There is always a reason why threads are closed. Since the author of the thread is not listed,..." your post read to me that you were "talking" about moved threads, not the ones that are simply closed for commenting since the closed threads can still be read and the OP is still listed.

Does anyone know how old Lindsay is????

She is in high school, I don't know her age. You could go to AF and leave her a message, asking what you want to know. That doesn't violate standards

@cherry@I am still oxox thanks. The reason I asked was because the OP said "L" was excited to move. I thought she was a small child and any child is excited to move to someplace else. They never think of losing their friends, etc. - but a teen??? That's not what I expected. I wonder who is home-schooling her and does she even "have" any friends..... I don't want to get into that thread because it probably won't last long. I am just curious but not that much...... Thx again.

This post has been removed by QVC because it's unkind and argumentative.

Interesting...a poster with exactly two posts to their credit, but who is clearly a long-time forum participant who knows all and sees all but has never been interested in posting before.
Their *only* two posts have been to off-topic bash one single poster.
Couldn't possibly be an agenda here, eh?
