I thought that the forum first began in 2006. Per other posters replying here, I guess I am wrong about that. Does anyone know the year that the QVC forum was created?

@SandySparkles I joined in 2011 to primarily comment on the Pet Forum. I met so many sweet posters in there. Since I watched Y & R at the time, I began to comment some in there. I clicked with wonderful posters in there ( including @SharkE ). Although there were differences of opinion back then, it seemed that posters seemed to work it out, at least that was my experience. I stopped watching the show and now mainly post elsewhere.
Now, I wish that topics could be discussed with differences of opinions accepted without some feeling like they have to tear others down. There are fabulously wonderful posters here, both long time and new, who I enjoy so much. It is because of those sweet posters (including you. @SandySparkles, @SportyShorty07 ). There are so many others, too. That is why I have continued to come here for the past 13 years.

I honestly don't remember the year, but it was way before 2010. When they revamped the forums that year, they reset pretty much everyone to that month and year, no explanation of why.
They also wiped out a lot of the posts I'd made, so the count isn't even right.
What I remember about the forums, when I joined way back was the exchange of information. Posters would alert others to things like jewelry that had gone on really low clearance prices.
Or someone would find a piece of jewelry (Robert Lee Morris followers were good at this) that had "gotten lost" in the QVC vaults and post the item number. I have some beautiful RLM items because of that.
I found a set of 3 silver RLM bangles for a knock-down price. I didn't wear bangles much, but knew others loved them, so posted the item numbers, which made others happy to snap them up.
Mostly I remember that it was a kinder place. Others can disagree, but that's my experience. Posters loved to help others out. Some now think it's too "bland". Well, I'll take that over the alternative.

@Winkk wrote:I've been a member for quite some time but only read them at first. I know a lot of people complain about the moderation here but it doesn't bother me.
The reason I didn't post at first because it seemed like a group of bullies were controling the forums. I believe they used to be able to send personal messages and then it was that little group who controled the conversations. I thought it was very intimatdating.
I prefer the way the forums are now.
@Winkk WOW!๐ฎ After reading your post, I am further reassured that I am MOST fortunate to have dodged those bullets!๐ I APPRECIATE the moderation, and HIGHLY doubt I would be here without it!๐ I think they do a WONDERFUL job enforcing the guidelines.๐โจโจ

@deepwaterdotter Welcome!๐ฅฐ I enjoy the personal stories, but understand the reasoning of those who don't.โค It makes them more relatable in a sense to me. I do not participate in other forms of social media, but am aware that EVERYTHING is shared there, so perhaps that is the reason many share here. For some, this may be there ONLY social interaction, so I am GLAD they have the opportunity to share. and I welcome all perspectives; pro and con.โค

I began watching QVC in 2005. My first time watching QVC I was sitting in a spa-type bathtub at a hotel in College Station Tx while visiting in order to get my daughter situated in an apt there.
When I returned home...I couldn't wait to get to the computer to order something I had seen!
Of course, while on the computer I discovered the forums!
One of the differences I tend to notice is that over the approximately 20 year time frame, people's use of the forum seems to have become lighter...messsges are shorter and more "to the point".
Its kind of a shame in some ways because it used to seem that "forum chat" has become briefer when at first it seemed that women were enjoying it just like they might have done if they were talking to a friend on the phone.
Kind of "neighborly-like"!
I often think to check here for the latest on storms and such...hoping the people here are all ok.
And it's still great to discuss fashion ... others reviews.
Also, I appreciate the posters who give their opinions about the latest tv streaming episodes and movies.
Funny story: I was an empty-nester (kind of feeling a little sorry for myself about it) and it was Christmas Eve.
I figured the forum would be shut down and I was clinging to the hope that it would remain open. It did!
There was a lady who ran a bar in New Orleans who told a tale about her rough life and how she was very scared! It was like having our own suspense-filled crime story going on while we chatted!
The forums had to log off at midnight... there was a band of us that were clinging to a few words at the stroke of midnight!

@SandySparkles I was a customer first.....then I was a lurker....then I finally joined in 2020. As far as changed....in the short amount of time I have been here, it basically has been the same for me. Only hiccup really was that my nic had been taken down....don't know if someone reported me or what. Apparently someone found it offensive? Go figure..... It was the American flag with one blue line in the stripes. Police related.
