"Druids?"   wow @Puzzle Piece   

Have you drawn me back to early, very early childhood!!      And, the familiar phrase,  -- "Druids of eld"  --  has popped into my head.

As a very young child in Elementary School, our teacher required  us to memorize the entire poem:

       "Evangeline"

            (by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

  "This is the forest primeval.

    The murmuring pines and the hemlocks,

    Bearded with moss, and in garments green,

        indistinct in the twilight,

    Stand like Druids of eld, with voices sad and prophetic,

    Stand like harpers hoar, with beards that rest on their bosoms."

Dutifully, apparently, I committed this poem to memory then, & even still, I recall, & can recite it's entirety.  I looked it up, just now.

Yet, I never seemed to understand what "Druids" were, or what the poem was really, truly about. 

    So, so, so young then, I thought "Druids" were likened to old trees, and perhaps I just left it at that then!   heh     

I've been On & Off QChat/Forums here, since their initial, original birth & Q's iterations.

       But, pretty much, other then these last few yrs, my prior Qvisits seemed almost exclusively to the "Beauty" Forum, as some form of @MakeUp Maiden nick.

I remember some prior nicks here, wonderful, interesting, caring ppl!!   But I dont remember any thing "Druid'ish" related...  not surprisingly.

As mentioned early on this thread, I'll bet "Druid" chat, wisdom, perspective, might have been interesting, at least, for a tyme- (& if Forum allowable)

I'm not being facetious because I just don't know but would the favorite holiday of a Wiccan be halloween?  Maybe the opposite, they may hate it, don't know.

They are considered witches, right?

I searched for Wiccan in the forum search box and this came up along with several other choices.  This one is 10 years old.

@Kachina624    They did indeed have topics like that. I was here under another name, as we had to change ID in 1999, because of a problem on QVC' end. I think. There have been a couple forum changes that I remember.  It wasn't until the change in 2010 that religion, politics and such wasstrictly  enforced.  At the beginning we didn't really have moderators. It was ok at first, then trolls kept coming in, especially election years. It got so vile, beyond anything I could print. one election I had to actually unsubscribe. Didn't come back for a couple months. Omg. QVC would ban them for so many days forst offense, depending. Yada yada. Then you were kicked out  on 3rd offense. The problem was, people just got new nickname, and started over. It wasn't til 2010 they fixed that.
I do remember the person PuzzlePiece is talking about. She talked food, and was very nice. But the  Wiccan discussions and such, were not really big threads.  That went on for a while. Actually they didn't get as bad and vicious as political and religious threads do now.  I think there was way more civility, except for the political.

@Kachina624   Go to search ..put in WICCAN in community. There are a few headings, In fact you commented on one of the threads.  Some though are not under the exact wording of Wiccan. Not my cup of tea exactly.
