Speaking about motherhood.......
What would you do, if you found out your adult child was a serial killer?
Would you visit them in prison, write to them, etc.?
Or would you try to forget them and move on with your life, as best you can......

How can anyone know how they would handle this?

I don't know what I would do, honestly. I just hope I wouldn't go on TV like one of the moms I saw recently and insist my son wasn't a monster and that he was a good person. I'm sure she was suffering and in pain, but yes, he is a monster and no not a good person.

@happycat IDK why they even interview the parents - sensationalism, I suppose. I would hope I would have enough decency to keep my mouth shut.

Not having any children of my own, I'm not sure if I'm qualified to answer. As a person who always looks for explanations, I think I'd have to at least make an effort to meet with my child to try and understand what was going on with them. I guess I'd need to be relieved of any feelings of self guilt. Then I'd make my decision about having further contact.

They would be dead to me.
I can't stand when parents cry and whine about their convicted offspring like Scott Peterson's mother.
He killed his wife and their unborn child! Her grandchild!
He cheated on her---that would be heartbreaking enough to know. But to know he still pursued his mistress while his wife was *missing*?
Dead to me. One person or a dozen murdered---doesn't matter. And if they can kill someone, anyone, they are capable of killing you!

I can't imagine any mother would disown a child no matter the cirumstance.

That's a tough one. I think it would be hard to know what one would do unless in the situation.
