I just saw this on CBS.

I would hope I would not have to go though the angst one of the parents in the story did before accepting and supporting my child:
He acknowledges that he hired a series of therapists in an effort to convince Venice to live as a girl -- all to no avail.
"So I was totally in the wrong area," he said. "Spending lots of money trying to fix a kid that, you know, wasn't really broken."

I thought it was interesting that one parent said when the child was a toddler, he was miserable when they went clothes shopping, and now at age 5 has entered kindergarten registered as a girl. It sounds like that child will have a much easier time transitioning as an adolescent if the entire school record reflects the same gender.

I doubt I would subject the child to media scrutiny.

love, support and protect them like every parent is supposed to do.

Honestly, I wouldn't be thrilled. I view it as a mental problem (you have this anatomy, your mind tells you you are the other gender).
I also think it's crazy to give teens hormone implants that keep puberty at bay. You can't fool Mother Nature...

Your "view" has been disproved by science. The body is a very complicated thing. You would be surprised at the number of babies born with both scks organs. Is it a mental problem then?

I agree to a degree though I think it is some sort of birth defect.
To answer the question I would cry a lot and pray even more to be able to handle the situation wisely..

I honestly don't know what I would do but I HOPE that I would be understanding and supporting of my child. AND I commend these parents!

I don't know what I would do. I know I will always love and support my children.
