I'd rather get my gold star another way.

Well...........I once saw a woman put a banana peel on the checkout conveyor. She WAS trying to pay for it after she ate it..............

That's so cool. I sometimes drink a bottle of water and pay for it in the way out.

At Goodwill (of all places), I saw a guy shove a dress under his shirt.
I was right behind him.
He turned, and saw that I was watching him.
Later, I saw him (in the shoe department), he looked thinner.
He dumped the dress by some shoes.
An employee thanked me for making that guy uncomfortable.
Geez, stealing from a thrift store - pathetic.

Several years ago I was in the grocery store and saw a very elderly women grab a giant size Hershey chocolate bar and watched her as she put it in her handbag and walked out the door!! I paused for a few seconds in shock but just could not bring myself to say anything to anyone! If she was hungry one would think she would have grabbed something more substantial but then maybe not!!

I would mind my own business.

I see people eating various things in the markets quite often. The stores have security cameras everywhere so if they want to stop it, it's their job, not mine.
Other than that, I've only seen one person taking non food merchandise, and it was at Trader Joes. Before they remodeled the store near me, they kept all the fresh flowers and plants outside the store, by the shopping carts. I saw a woman pull up, grab big armfuls of flowers and get into her car and drive away. It happened so fast, there wasn't time for me to go inside and let the employees know. Probably why they moved all of this inside, once they remodeled and had the space for it.

I would report them, and I have reported shoplifters because I used to be a manager in a supermarket chain. Shoplifting costs you the consumer, because of losses from shoplifting the cost of products goes up.

Definitely report it. Or if I worked in retail and saw someone shoplift I'd ask them if they'd like to pay for the item they just put in their purse.

Report it to a store employee. If someone was stealing from me I would like a witness to report it.
