it doesn't make any difference what I would like to be remembered for.......most of the time it's vanity talkin when people are asked that question and what you think you should be remembered for is the last thing you are remembered for
so my answer is more to what I hope I did well when I was on this earth.....and that's an easy one........I hope I raised my kids well.......I hope they know just how proud I am of them.......I hope they know, the ones with kids, what awesome loving parents they are......I hope I prepared them for life and I helped give them the strength to deal with whatever life my throw at them........most of all I hope they knew they were my world and I so loved them.......and lastly to borrow a phrase I heard and loved......I hope they never forget, the day they became mine, I became theirs............................raven

I think this question is good because it prompts us to take inventory, assess the impact of our life and acknowledge its brevity. And, possibly, it lights a fire under us to be more mindful in the days to come.
I just returned from spending the day with friends and family at a memorial service, and a gathering afterward, for a special friend who passed away not long ago. I’m not sure, but that probably changed my answer to the question. I think I want to be remembered as someone who was compassionate, who knew she was imperfect but still did her best, and who made a positive difference in someone’s life.

I think, kind of like what John said.....I want to be remembered for being "real" or transparent....who God meant me to be. I hope the way I live my life will have been an encouragement to others and that any flaws they saw in me will inspire them to do better.

Just simply being a good mother, wife and daughter. I know I have succeeded with that. If you succeed with that, it means you have other good attributes. We are a very tight knit family. Also for providing all our pups with a warm and loving home.

I think of it, blackbirdraven, as more of a way of "checking" ourselves. It's good to please one's self, but it is important, I think, to stop to question: Is pleasing myself hurting others?
One shouldn't constantly sacrifice one's self for others, but also one should not live just for one's self either.
I have seen it over and over again: NO MATTER WHAT YOUR AGE OR CONDITION YOU CAN HAVE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON OTHERS AND THEREFORE ON THE WORLD -- and that is something worthy to consider.

Loving wife, mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend. If I can help limit pain and dysfunction in the lives of people I love -- that would make me happy.

Common sense, but would need to be judged by the people that know me.
