Re: What would have been your dream career?

A mad scientist! @ECBG

No, actually I was a chemist for the greater part of my career. I have a M.S. in biochemistry. Had I stayed in the field I would have gone for some advanced degree in chemistry, possibly a PhD in biochem or something related to that.

My students used to frown when I spoke to them about how so much of what we did was simple chemistry!  lol!!!

Probably a rocket scientist (joking). Almost daily, I hear the phrase "you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know......"

Re: What would have been your dream career?

Now in my elder years, I have changed my idea of a dream career a couple times.  At first, I was sorry I didn’t go to law school, then I thought I should have been a research librarian.

After retirement, I found much fulfillment volunteering on a skilled nursing unit for the elderly poor.  Maybe a medical social worker would have been it?

I worked in development for private schools, and then in a law office.  Can’t say I’m not flexible.  I still love to read, biographies and anything historical.

My dream career is exactly what I did.  Teacher.  And just about every subject in the book at the midddle school level.  I am proud of my decision and my passion for the job.

Hang in there Lisa. You have Covid we had Aids. 3/4 of our patients came in half dead and they were young. One of the clergy in the ER came over to me one night and said. Never forget you are doing Gods work. Sort of put a different spin on the exhaustion and helplessness. Remember we had no cure for it and no one got any better.

@Queen of shop  We can start a band!   Instead of becoming a  violinist  and succeeding at that  (my parents dream), I always wanted to play bass, electric bass.  They hold down the band, along with the drummer of course.  I actually lived my dream, I bought one a few years ago, I'm totally self taught.  ROCK ON!!
