Re: What was your first music concert and when...

A Paul Anka show (they weren't called concerts then) on the Steel Pier in Atlantic City at the end of the 1950s.  I got his autograph (almost fainted as he was my big crush at that time).

Those were the days when Atlantic City was Atlantic City and the Steel Pier was the Steel Pier -- and not despoiled by thieves of the highest order.

@haddon9

Have discussed it here several times, but I'll repeat myself so you won't feel so bad.

I was 13.  My sis somehow got tickets...Busch Stadium....no decent sound system then, no big TVs.  August and hot as you know what....raining a bit, too.

They were out in Center Field...No binoculars....It could have been the cleaning crew for all we knew Cat LOL

However, when they exited, it was very near where I was sitting...close enough to see their faces...The crowd of young girls was screaming and falling on the ground...quite the scene.

They looked up, I reached out but could not speak...It was really them!

Have been a fan since that time, but I like their early stuff the best.  Still have my vinyl albums!

They made life as a teen so fun...even had a pen pal from England and all we talked about....The Beatles, of course.

It was a sweet, innocent time that I miss.

Love REO....Still have my "High Infidelity" album.

Such a great concert at the Capital Center in Largo, MD.

I went alone (husand, now ex, was a jerk)....I was scared to go by myself, but determined to see them.

I did....fab music!

I'm sorry I missed the Monkeys.

I did see Peter Tork solo a couple of years back.  Mickey D. plays our favorite place in Annapolis now and again.  Next time he comes, I promised myself I'd go!

Only so many concerts left in these guys.  I adored them!

The Rolling Stones in June 1964 at Carnegie Hall, of all places. My brother and his fiancée took me.

The Beatles in August 1964 at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium. I can still picture Paul's shiny hair. LOL My Dad took me and I can still picture his shell shocked look as they were carrying out a girl who had fainted. It was a great time !

Of course years later  there was Sly & The Family Stone, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Neil Young, Eagles, Moody Blues, Elton John, Beach Boys, Kinks, Ringo Starr and his All Star Band, Todd Rundgren and of course Sir Paul.  I didn't go to a lot of concerts but certainly enjoyed the ones I attended.

Re: What was your first music concert and when...

My "First" one was an Elvis concert in '57.  I wasn't born yet, but mom and dad went.  I had to wait until '75 to actually see him and not just hear him.  LOL

As a teenager I went to a hard rock concert, but I can't remember who it was.  I remember party joints being passed around and I didn't know what it was so I passed it on.  The lead singer had white hair and was dressed in all white.  One and only date with that guy.  I wasn;t in to hard rock.

Mozart Live in 1786.

Nah, I'm not THAT old!

I think it was Paul Revere and the Raiders 1967 Cobo Hall Detroit.
