My elderly cat is throwing up a lot and it is staining the carpet in my apartment. This is a rental and I am afraid that I am going to pay for new carpeting. I have tried different cleaners but nothing seems to really work. She is in good health, so thinking since she has long hair, hairballs might be the main culprit. Help!!! I should add that I brush her several times daily. She had a recent bout of sickness which we saw the vet for. She is on a special food for elderly cats which she tolerates well. ,

I have the magic bullet- Use Spot Shot and the cheapest shaving cream you can find (NOT gel). Spray with Spot Shot, then spray the shaving cream, let it sink in, and go over with a carpet brush.

We use our steam cleaner ( carpet shampooer) with oxyclean

I use Resolve for pet stains.

I've tried everything and my favorite is Bissell Pawsitively Clean Cat Stain and Odor Eliminator. It says it's for urine but it has removed any stain I've had including kitty vomit and poop. I got it at Pet Smart.

I use Bissel stain remover for pets. I get it at Target. I have a little stain removing machine I use or that it's supposed to be used with. But sometimes I just put a little on the carpet, put on plastic gloves and wipe it with a rag if it's not too big of a mess.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions, Spot Shot was easiest to find! If it doesn't so the trick, I have others to try now. Will let you all know if it worked!
