In 1999 a california man was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and sentenced to 27 years to life. Now right off the bat - he didn't use the gun on anyone - he just was carrying it. IMO that sentence was inappropriate. Anyway, in 2010 a federal judge declared his conviction uncostitutional and ordered him released. However, he remains in jail still. There are activists trying to bring attention to his situation and get him released. How could this happen? I find this frightening.
