@luvdoodles wrote:I love what we call around here a Turkey Gobbler on a bulkie roll. Fresh turkey, topped with stuffing, cranberry sauce and a little mayo. Don't have it often as I usually only cook a turkey around the holidays. Yummy.
Mine, too; however, add some cream cheese and sprouts.

Turkey, avocado, provolone, lettuce, tomato, and bean sprouts tossed with a dash of oil and vinegar on whole wheat.

ETA-let's add some of our fresh home grown tomato.

peanut butter AND mayo in the same sandwich-or am I confused.....
You are not confused. I grew up eating these same sandwiches, except back then it was white bread. Never liked the PB/Jelly combo. Now as long as it has natural fresh ground PB, the other condiments don't matter.

I could eat a turkey sandwich everyday of my life and be happy.
So do Oreos count?

My favorites are/were:
1. Marshmallow and PB sandwich (Gone from my diet but never forgotten as a kid!)
2. Creamcheese and Jelly (also gone )
3. Philly cheesesteak (just exactly what it says, cheese and steak)
4. Italian hoagie which means Amoroso roll and fresh deli meats and cheese from the market
And I don't call PB&J a sandwich. It is my first and still reigning food group.
PS: Do hot dogs count?

3) tuna-- an everyday go-to
Since GI issues, everything must be gluten-free!
Hi Loves,
With your gut issues, have you also eliminated anything tomato? This is considered an inflammatory food. I do much better when I avoid tomatoes or tomato products.

My Mom used to have Peanut Butter, with crispy iceberg lettuce and mayo on soft white bread, it is still a favorite treat every now and then!

Well, it's not the healthiest, but I still love a good grilled cheese, especially with ciabatta bread with just a nice melty cheese like cheddar.

Yes thanks ... This is probably why I haven't had a BLT in ten years!

@sfnative Very nice thread, thanks for putting it up
I usually eat pretty boring sandwiches, like a scrambled egg on toast, or all veg with avodado.
But... the one I love the best is once a year only and is made of Thanksgiving leftovers: sliced turkey breast, homemade cranberry sauce, and even stuffing.
One I love but haven't had in years is a Monte Cristo. The very best is made in Disneyland, the Pirates of the Caribbean restaurant. It's ham and turkey with cheese, grilled on both sides of the bread, then the outside is sprinkled with powdered sugar. Jam is served on the side to add to the sandwich. Man, those calories will hold your for a month!
