I've been noticing several commercials using owls as their "spokes-animals:"

I love owls, but am curious as to why they are seemingly so popular in commercials. Has anyone seen any other commercial ads on TV with owls?

I don't know about those, but there's the (favorite) sloth, and that camel, and dogs driving cars. I guess they think "cute" and animals are just dear to our hearts.

I’ve noticed all those owls in the same commercials you listed, @madzonie, and I admire you for being able to identify each of the individual brands you included. Now I see an owl, I can’t reasily tell what the heck is being promoted because the ads have no distinction for me.
It’s not that I care, but when I see a little green gecko, I know the brand of insurance. And those silly birds on the kitchen counter are for Birdseye vegetables. The little white west highland terrier sells Cesar’s dog food, while the Clydesdales are Budweiser, etc.
Now show me an owl and I can’t guess what name might come to mind. Once upon a time it might have been Wise potato chips!

@madzonie My thought is because owls have always been portrayed as being very wise. So if you use their product you are a very wise person.

@madzonie Why not letting them have their 3 minutes of "fame". They will be replaced by something sooner or later. Perhaps one of those adorable snakes.

In reality owls are vicious raptors, but they have been known to be a symbol of wisdom.
Goes back at least to Greek mythology.
Who can figure out American advertising??

Because owls are smart (wise) and if you use the products, you'll be smart too....actually, it appears the advertisers are smart bcz you actually named the products with owl spokes(owls). I couldn't name a single one...and I love owls...we have a couple in our backyard trees. I hear them "talking" to each other at night. One night, my dog and I went back to see what the noises were..shone a flashlight into the trees, saw big eyes looking back, then noticed the size of the talons. I looked at the dog ( husky), dog looked at me, and I said to her "I think we'll go inside now. That looks like it could carry YOU off"...she agreed...🤣🤣🤣

I think it all started when the Harry Potter films came out.
