I was driving home from the store this afternoon behind a car that had 4 bumper stickers plastered over it, and it got me to wondering why do people do this? It gives me something to read when I am sitting behind them at a traffic light, but otherwise I don't see the point. I've seen them on everything from luxury cars to complete wrecks, but the messages are the same. I really don't understand the people that invest so much in a luxury vehicle purchase only to "graffiti" it with nonsense stickers like some high school notebook. Nice older cars with faded political endorsement stickers on them that people never bothered to remove. The stickers range from the obscene to the sublime, but I am especially disturbed by the people that plaster their vehicle with the "My child is an Honor Student at blah blah School", that is just an invitation for criminal activity. I spent a lot of money on my cars over the years, and always take pride in their appearance, so it makes no sense to me to cover them with tacky thoughts or temporary endorsements. Just my opinion of course, but do you plaster your cars in bumper stickers? If so, why?
