Nope. That's not the whole story. Be your best self, for the context and circumstance you are in and the audience you are in front of. And even then, some people still won't care for you, and that's on them, not you.

The worst advice I ever got was from my late mother---she told me NOT to marry the fellow I was going steady with--he didn't have money--has no "potential"---would never treat me right and might even beat me!!

We eloped the next night......

November 3 of this year we will be celebrating our 39th anniversary----he takes wonderful care of me as I have cancer and diabetes--I could not have been more blessed with a better partner in my life!!!!!!!!!!
