I'm new here and I'm wondering what the custom is for "newbies"? Do I just jump right in or should I introduce myselg?

Since I don't know, I think I'll try to be on the safe side and say, Hi, I'm a newbie. My real name isn't Hannah and I'm not huge (well, maybe slightly large would be a better description) but I do enjoy alliterations. DH and I are both retired and we're enjoying getting to spend more time with the grands (why are they so much more fun?) and I'm also a devoted cat lover.

Greeting to everyone -- oh, and please be patient with my misspellings; I'm a bad typist though I'm trying to do better.

Welcome to the boards @Huge Hannah!  I have a cat, too, (and a dog).  We have a pet forum where we talk about our pets.  There's a lot of interesting people on these boards, and we're glad to have you with us.

@Huge Hannah  Welcome to the Community.

Welcome @Huge Hannah!  Jump right in.  You'll figure it out quickly.  There are lots of different forums (Listed to the left under Community Menu).

Also a good place is the forum titled Welcome Get Started - probably has not been updated in a while, but there used to be good information for newbies in there.

Yes absolutely Welcome!  And I have one suggestion for you.  If you post a title with something more specific about the topic, you might get more people looking and answering.  Example:  What's the protocal for newbies?

@Huge Hannah

Please know that sometimes a few posters here will make unkind comments about 'newbie's' posts, but just ignore them.

We were all 'newbies' once!

But the majority of posters here are kind, compassionate and knowledgeable in many, many areas and happy to share that information with fellow posters.
