Our goldendoodle won a cutest pet photo contest and a $50 gift card to Petco. We never win anything, but he did. He will probably have few new toys coming his way. Way to go Bentley!!!

I'm getting to spend time with my too-long-gone neighbor's little old dog
...a 19-yo mini poodle who is not long for this world. He is old, lonely and we make each others day when we see each other.![]()

these little girls light up our lives now in ways we never thought we would experience again. now, how do we house train these girls? they are long haired chihuahuas and really not getting it! i called a dog trainer and she said get a lot of sleep and take your vitamins. it's going to be hard work!
Good for you! You cannot replace the ones you lose, but reaching out for more love and helping an animal at the same time -- or, TWO in your case!-- puts you back on a positive track, doesn't it! I know many of us have been there. Your " little girls" sound line handful.-- of joy!
@libbyannE I just had to say your choice of the words, "puts you back on a positive track" is right on. It gives a new focus other than grieving. Puppies keep you and your mind busy.
@ladyroxanne Congratulations! We are going through the puppy thing after losing our guy in June. The trainers advice was good. I think we forget the time and energy involved in puppy training. It will be worth it.

We rescue cats, get their shots, have them neutered, socialize them, and find them homes. Along the way, we have kept one, here and there, and now have 8, including an FIV-positive cat that would have been euthanized immediately at a shelter. They are such a joy to us, but I cry every time I give up a cat I have worked to socialize! I cry over each loss, including that of our 20-year-old "baby," whom we had raised from a baby. But having new life around us, yes, keeps us on track.

@libbyannE We really don't have a choice, but to move on with life. Of course, we grieve. I guess the alternative is to not love another pet and then the sadness would become overwelming.
The work you are doing is to be commended. Kudos!

Yesterday, my daughter was awarded a full scholarship for special training in her field, and by a group she doesn't work with.
She's very excited, it's in the thousands and will help her career.

My son sent me his 1 year old Mac. He spilled coke on it accidently and had to buy a new one, because he is teaching in Dubai for 1 month, and needed one he knows will work
His old one works fine, except for the WiFi, which is of no interest to me anyway
