What's hard to find in your area's stores?

I thought it might be interesting to see what the area shortages are in the country.

In Manhattan, cannot find, period:  hand sanitizer, handwipes, masks, gloves, clorox or lysol wipes.

Hard to find (like must make it a mission hard):  ethyl or isopropyl alcohol, bleach or bleach products, hydrogen peroxide.

May not be in one store but no need to panic will probably be in another:  TP (they are really pushing a brand called 'Panda,'  and hand tissues.  Paper towels - I don't really use them so haven't bought any recently, but there seem to be plenty of paper towels.

Food is plentiful, although the more desirable frozen dinners are scarce.  By more desirable, I mean the ones that include a veg and that try to control the calorie count.  Plenty of cans, cereals, energy bars.

Plenty of fresh veg.  Fruits are there but you may have to look around for bananas.

Fresh meat and poultry.  Although I live in Wisconsin, milk is in short supply in the grocery stores.  Rice and pasta products are nowhere to be found.

Anything but bathroom cleaners are hard to find and there are zero Clorox or Lysol wipes to be had.

Toilet paper is hard to find, but I did score paper towels over the weekend.

I'm not finding rice or pasta.

I subscribed to Imperfect Foods to a weekly box of items, but it's very hit or miss. It's a company that sells overstock items and fruits and vegetables that are too ugly for stores. They are.... truly ugly. But I did get some things I haven't been able to get from the grocery store.

Nothing...you may not get your fav brand but you can find a substitute. What's difficult is there's no pickup or delivery times available for weeks so you have to go into the stores or find someone to go for you.

Paper products mostly. Red onions are running $4 an onion here. They have them in the stores but I've stopped buying them because of the cost.

The aisle for frozen fruit and frozen veggies has been empty at my market since this began.

@stuyvesant

I don’t know what is in the stores. I’m staying home and ordering for pickup or delivery.

I can’t order toilet paper but I have a package so I’m not in a hurry there. I haven’t found eggs to order either but I’m going to see if I can order some locally grown ones.

I haven’t purchased and don’t need any of the cleaning items you mention because, again, I’m staying home.

Re: What's hard to find in your area's stores?

I can't get any toilet paper or paper towels.  Certainly no lysol wipes.

One thing I can't find are dried beans in a bag.  I like to make pinto bean soup and no beans to be found.  Today I came across a bag by a strange brand - pinto beans - got them home and realized the bag said pinto beans FLAVORED W/ARTIFICIAL HAM!!  Yuck.  Artificial ham?  Never heard of such a thing.  Maybe someone else will enjoy them, but thats a no from me and disappointed I can't make my delicious pinto bean soup.

Is it worth life and limb going from store to store in search of these items?  I am not that desperate or bored just yet.

I do wish they would set a 2 per customer limit on some things so more people could get what they went to the store for.
