From the local news a 14 yo boy got into a fight with another student and was stabbed to death walking home from school yesterday, another student is in the hospital with head injuries from multiple fist hits to her head in a  fight after school.  A 22 yo college student from Missouri has been missing for several days now after he was put out of a bar drunk. Video of him stumbling down a street has surfaced but no sign of him yet. His mom was crying when interviewed by the media ( completely understand)

I'm just saddened by such tragedies. Can we just pray for these families?

I am praying for our youth. Seems some of humanity has lost control it is very sad and disheartening. I pray for all hurting young and old to find their way again.

@Goodie2shoes    I can't make sense of it either.  I don't have children, but my twin cousins each have three that I've watched since babies.  The oldest are now 14 and I pray for them all the time.  I'm not sure what has brought about these changes around us, but I do see it reflected in one of the kids I speak about in particular.  I'm very concerned for their families.❤️

@Goodie2shoes - I hear you. DH and I look at each other in disbelief. Our younger child is just a few years from college, living in a city far from us. I try not to worry, but I can't help it. I pray all of the time 

A few nights ago he took a coworker home after dark. He started to leave and saw a "dude" (as he says) holding a beer can walk up to her. He pulled over and texted her. It turns out it was her neighbor, but she thanked him over and over for staying. 

Another former coworker and her boyfriend were shot when he opened his apartment door. She lost two fingers; he was in critical condition for a while, but is OK now. They still don't have any subjects, but the police think the intruders were looking for drugs.

His former girlfriend saw someone shot and killed when she was driving in daylight on a major street. The car that shot the person was right behind her. She still has nightmares about it. And she moved away.

We never had to worry so much about these things. Some say the younger generation has no respect for life. I don't think that's it. I think it's the easy availability of drugs. 

When DD was young she ran in the park all of the time. She's an adult now, but I have asked her not to do it alone any longer. I don't know if she's listening or not. She usually responds by saying there are lots of people there.

We live in a different world. The freedom to go where you want without being constantly aware is no longer there.

😔I seriously PRAY for our younger generation!🙏❤ These are more examples of such a LONG list of savage, SENSELESS, deplorable acts of depravity perpetrated by today's youth without any regard for human life, or the consequences of their actions! 😞 Just when you think you have seen and heard it all, ANOTHER headline surfaces even more hellacious than the previous!😐 Immoral behavior is not only glorified these days, it is ENCOURAGED! My heart breaks for the many victims, and their devastated families💔

I am sending heartfel prayers of solace🙏 and healing🙏 for the innocent vicitms❤, and their heartbroken families! I am still shaking my head in disbelief!😐

I just dread watching the local news.......all about shootings, murders, abductions, guns in school.  It's  all so negative.

I don't think this is anything new. There were plenty of fights resulting in injuries and death when I was young in the 70s. Plenty of drunk kids went missing too. What we didn't have in the good old days was the gun massacres we have today because kids didn't have access to semiautomatic weapons, unless they were using them in Vietnam.

Times haven't changed where human nature is concerned. You just hear about it ALL with nonstop 24 hour news.

It's not just young people. People of all ages are doing these things. And it's so sad.

Over 5,000 people died from gunshots last year. We had more mass shootings than days in 2023 and 2024 ytd.

We have outrageous bigotry, racism and hate crimes every day.

We have politicians leading by example by preaching hate, vengeance, and dictatorship as well as willingly ignoring the country's needs every day.

We have people publicly supporting criminals and crimes as well as making excuses for crimes.

Many parents don't parent.

Lashing out has become ok in this country.  

And the list goes on.

Prayer is great. But prayer is also a 2-way street. God expects people to act to fix/change things.
