Well I seriously doubt we will get to 119 but it won't surprise me if we get close to it this summer. This is something we haven't seen in a few years. Used to be common, to rain like this in the summer, but we've been in a drought situation for several years. The dogs and I are on the front porch taking advantage of it. I thought the water dog would be out in the rain enjoying it but she is following the dingo's lead and staying on the front porch.  I'm glad I ran the sprinklers yesterday and last night so that the ground is more accommodating.

Local newspaper here in the So. CA desert is showing 126 degrees for Wednesday.  It's been around 120 for quite a few days with poor air quality.  Needless to say, I'm staying in my air conditioned house and not leaving unless I absolutely have to.  I keep getting weather advisory notices extending the days for the predicted heat wave.  I think they should just give up and stop wasting their time and just send out one advisement stating that it will be as hot as h.... here in the desert until November 1st. I sometimes have the AC on until Thanksgiving.

Same here.  Why even remind us of the sweltering temps and humidity.  My AC will be on/off thru Nov.  I used to be able to open my north windows in mid Oct.  Now it's late Oct into Nov.

I just spent an hour putting my portable AC in my window. Am in Wa state and starting today, it will be hot, hot, hot here for the next week or so. Not h#ll fire hot, like other places but still in the 90's where I am and in the triple digits in eastern Wa. But at least there is no humidity or hurricanes---

Our high today is only 92 but it's the clouds that have saved us from the triple-digit heat index. Had a few sprinkles this morning but looking forward to some good soaking rains from Hurricane Beryl; we won't have flooding this far north, but we sure need a day or two of steady rain; my hydrangea leaves are getting crispy!

Death Valley may break the record of 130 in the next few days.

I read you can sous vide a steak to med rare in 2 hours at 131. 🤣

Well once again it was in high 90s today, high dew point (wet blanket) and high humidity. We had a cookout yesterday with the kids and grandkids.  We were outside all day in the screen porch and yeah, we were dripping sweat and happy.  They came back today for leftovers and same scenario.  Clearly, we are all hot weather folks. However, today the grands brought their super soakers over and me and hubs were running all over the yard ambushing the kids. It was hysterical!!  Babchi and dziadek (gram, gpop) are pooped out now that they have left!

fun stuff and love summer!  Hubs and I going down to the beach tomorrow for some quiet.
