Never did. But, I am on a strict diet right now and have limited my pasta, and portions in general and am practically living on fish, vegetables, and fruits. PS) It is very hard for me to lose weight with my back issues/lack of exercise due to provoking pain, so there will be no over eating pasta or anything right now.
If you eat whole grain pasta (Barilla's is great, BTW), it has at least 3 grams of fiber, and fiber keeps you fuller - longer.
Especially when combined with lean protein.
Your entire body - especially your GI system - is much healthier when eating whole grain carbs in general.
WG/low-fat/low-sugar:
Cereals, breads, muffins, rice, couscous, quinoa (which is super high in protein, too), noodles, pasta, and popcorn (w/o fatty toppings).
Popcorn is also higher in antioxidants than both veggies and fruits.

That's because you're a dude, John, and more women are "emotional eaters". ;-)

It's always been pretzels for me, especially the super-thick ones which have an even more satisfying crunch, LOL.
But I love tortilla chips too, and like potato chips and baked/fried cheese puffs as well.
I totally understand about the ice cream situation, even when I'm not trying to lose some weight.
I had to stop keeping it at home and switch to grabbing frozen yogurt instead (which I kept here anyway), since it's healthier and full of probiotics for the immune and GI systems.
Even more filling is Greek frozen yogurt, as it's double the protein..
If I have extremely-easy access to something unhealthy, forget it when I'm peeved/other.

Yes! Together! It has to be freshly opened bag of Lay's. For the cookies they must be about 5 minutes out of the oven, but slice and bake will do.
Yum!

Chocolate cake wins it for me, though I rarely have it around, in which case rocky road ice cream will do.

For any time, it's got to be ice cream. Or for a meal, Amy's Broccoli and Cheddar bake:
