Huh??? Never afraid to dine out. We have everything here in L.A. I've dined out enough to where stuff almost tastes the same after a while. Too many occurrences of food poisoning and e coli to expose oneself to. How could anyone think others are afraid because they guard their life and their health. Now that stuns me.

Then you would love this place Marien. I am not certain, but it might be the original "slider" even before WhiteCastle. The Cozy Inn started in 1922 (it's even older than my dad, lol). Same location in town, same small place with only a few barstools and barely enough room to stand and turn around. The burgers come with onions in them, your options are ketchup, mustard and pickles... don't ask for cheese. You can get chips and a soda. It's a local joke that anyone can tell when you've been to the "Cozy" because the aroma is distinct.

When my dad was in HS they used to go to the Cozy after football games and such, and there would be a line down the block. Several years ago they added a drive-thru window, but the real fun is going in and sitting down. People order them from all over the country, they freeze and ship them out. The place is plastered with articles and reviews, and it was even featured on a "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" episode with Guy Fieri. Lots of history in that place, if the walls could talk.

We love Asian food, Belgian ( Moules Frites ) and French food. Since there aren't any Belgian French places where we live it's mostly Asian and Pho restaurants.

There is a restaurant in Monterey that I really love. It's $$$ but it's always been really good.
For a chain restaurant, I love California Pizza Kitchen. I wish there was one here but, alas, I'd have to drive at least two hours to get to the nearest one. My usual is a half size Chinese chicken salad, split a garlic chicken pizza (they're small), and two of their awesome Bloody Marys.

I still love IHOP but just their breakfast menu. I don't care for their lunch or dinner food.

Very rarely go to restaurants. We love a seafood place with oysters farmed on the spot. But I got very sick from that place. The others are too far to drive to when we find there is an hour wait or a private party. We had a nice traditional American place close by with fresh bread and salad bar...it closed along with an Italian place.
I am even nervous about Dunkin Donuts! There ate many eateries that have had critical violations.
