Re: What's Wrong With Some People

@Equuleus  Try and go to a motel/hotel to rest for a couple of nights, esp. if there is A/C.

Take that fire extinguisher and put it with a note in the middle of your street and say that it doesn't belong to you. The person who put it in your bin needs to claim it. lolol Shame them.

Sorry about your power loss.  When we must run our generator due to power loss husband insists on turning it off at 9:00 p.m. for the night for the neighbors sake.  They are loud!

Re: What's Wrong With Some People

I live in a private house, so many times people will use my trash can as a public garbage receptacle. I don't get why if your walking home, keep your garbage and throw it out in your own pail. I have found dog poop and food thrown in my can and it's not like they open up the bag and put it in, no they just throw it in and the sanitation men just pull out the bags, what ever falls to the bottom of the can, too bad. I also can't tell you how much garbage I pick up in front of my house, street, and sidewalk, people are so inconsiderate.

Ah, neighbors! Good ones are so appreciated. Our city has an ordinance against parking boats in driveways but each summer a neighbor brings his and it stays until fall. Last year he had something to repair so it was December before it was gone. I can live with a couple of weeks here or there, but this long? If I call the city I have to give name so neighbor will know. Then they are warned and then have a week or so to remove. Then the next year it’s a repeat, you would think this would carry over to next year. I guess we pick our battles but onecexpects more from fellow home owner.

I guess I don’t understand what would be a problem with someone parking their boat, in their driveway?

Re: What's Wrong With Some People

We pay for garbage collection.  One morning I went to add something to the container and found a big bag inside that did not belong to us.  I later found out that a neighbor waited until it was dark and dumped their garbage into whatever container they found that was not full.  My husband and I were so disgusted that we actualy went through the bag -- found something with their address on it -- and left the bag at their front door with a note saying that if it happend again we would report them to the police for illegal dumping.

@Equuleus  My husband has migraines too.  He sees a neurologist/ migraine specialist at Yale.  There is a new medication called Amovig.  I just wanted to mention it in case you haven't heard about it.  It is a once a month injection that you give yourself.  The results so far have been very promising -- and from what we have read and seen on the news -- neurologists are very excited about it.  My husband literally just recieved the first injection delivered to our home yesterday.  Fingers crossed that it works.

Another example of people taking advantage of others instead of paying their fair share.

I honestly think what you did was awesome!  I would have loved to have seen the expression on their faces when they read your note.

And thanks for the migraine information.  I have not heard of this medication.  I'll read up on it.  I hope it works for your hubby.  They are very debilitating.

@Equuleus, most places have noise regulations for generators.  For day and night.  Perhaps your neighbor is in violation.

Our next door neighbor has his generator right outside our bedroom window. Last time we lost power, he started his generator. We were without power for 8 hours. He had the generator going for over 3 days. He didn't realize that the power was back on !?!?!?

Re: What's Wrong With Some People

What's Wrong With Some People.....I've been asking that for years and years. Stoned? Stupid? Self Absorbed? Selfish? Sanctimonious? Self aggrandising? There is no one answer to describe them. My city told us we were responsible for any garbage in our bins, even it it wasn't ours. I am getting so that I shake my head at any ridiculous behavior I see. My smallest complaint is the two sized grocery carts. Store managers have two lanes to leave them in: one lane for big carts, one lane for mini carts. Do you think people are able to put them in the right lane? Of course not!!!! They mix them so that the attendants who move them back to the store, have to sort them out first. How stupid are people that they don't see the difference? Sorry, it's no big deal really, but it bugs me because it's just such a no brainer, and yet people can't figure it out.

Re: What's Wrong With Some People

I have had a large oxygen tank for about 10 years that the hospital sent home with my dad.  I can't figure out how to get rid of it, but now I know I can just put it in my neighbors recycling bin.
