Re: What's The First Thing...

My mother's sense of humor.  Her laughter was contagious and my sister and I always laughed along, you couldn't help it.  Her kindness and generosity were two strong traits and and my friends loved her!

My mom's reassuring touch.  Her fierce independence and how hard working and brave she was.  Never complained.  She loved her children and sacrificed much.  We always came first  She and my dad were in my dreams a couple of nights ago!  Be at peace nd happy Mom!  You are my heart, I love and miss you so much!

That she was a great grandmother who absolutely doted on her grandkids. Heart

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of your mom? For me it's how much I miss her, she was my best friend, and she loved me unconditionally.

@Jordan2 What Rhett said to Scarlett: "A cat's a better mother than you." 'Nuff said and none of it good.

How she loved playing Bridge, traveling with my dad, and eating chocolate!

She was a great teacher (Ohio's Teacher of the Year), a brilliant lady who loved poetry and history, and a grandma who adored her grandkids and great grands.

She lived to age 100 and has been gone 6 years. Life will never be the same without her.

Re: What's The First Thing...

My mother was my best friend, my protector, my cheerleader.  She nursed me back to health when I had an emotional breakdown.  She loved me unconditionally.  She was always right.  Her wisdom was unparalleled.  She was very loving and generous.  She was loved by so many. A "living angel" was what she was called. It has been over 30 years since she left me; I think of her always and have seen and heard her in my dreams.  I know I will see her again.

She's still here, 95 years old, still mentally sharp. Still lives in her own home.

I'm at peace, I realize that when a person nears the end of their life they deserve mercy and respect, I love her unconditionally even though she hurt me terribly in my youth. She isn't a bad person. She has many fine qualities. I do what I can to help her and I dread the day she is gone.

Re: What's The First Thing...

Her complexity.  She was a pretty, delicate woman with a spine of steel.  She got us through some tough times when my dad was hospitalized for months (when I was around 10).  She had a great sense of humor and was my best friend.  We "hung out" a lot together.

Sometimes I wake up in the midst of a dream where she's still here and orienting to the fact that she isn't surrounds me in her loss.
