Re: What "popular" phrases drive you nuts?

Wow. I agree that just about all the words and phrases listed here are annoying!

I think any time someone says the same thing repeatedly it becomes annoying. If the phrase is grammatically incorrect the annoyance increases.

Re: What "popular" phrases drive you nuts?

I have heard seemingly well educated people use seen when they shuold have said saw. I believe that saw will become obsolete as you rarely hear it used correctly anymore.

It grates my nerves when everybthing is described as "super" cute, soft ,easy, etc. etc and then followed by "totally".  There are plenty of adverbs and adjectives to describe an item or  an idea.  When I hear it from the hosts who are well in their fifties it all sounds so silly.  ....Then there is fabrication used when the word is FABRIC!!  Yes, I expressed this before and I know many of you who have agreed.

Not sure is this has been posted, and maybe it's not a phrase but I really, really, cannot stand "you guys" especially when used by "professional" people-either on air or in RL.

To me it's just sounds juvenile.
"Hey guys-here's the news".

"Back to you guys".

"Can I help you guys?"   NO.

Stay in your lane --- This is usually said on social media by  people who don't like it when others date outside their race, so they're told to "stay in their lane."  My mom is white and my dad black, so this something that makes me crazy. I told a woman on Facebook that if she didn't like interracial relationships, either tolerate it or stay off the highway. Catty I know, but hey, that phrase just angers me.

@Cumbercookie13, I don't mind 'boo', but can't stand 'bae'!

'Adorbs' & 'nothing burger' bug me, & I've always disliked "Put your big girl pants/panties on."

"Nothing burger" is kind of funny, it's so odd.

But I know any minute now I won't think it's funny anymore Woman LOL
