FURBABY!!!!

It's a creepy mental image and I really dislike hearing adults use babytalk in everyday discourse.

It might be cute on a four-year-old but those 5 years of age and older should refrain from using the word.

I've never said 'furbaby', but I have to say that baby talk makes me a little crazy.   I don't like words like hubby, veggies, and a score of others.  I don't begrudge others the words they use, however, as  long as they aren't words of bigotry or hatred but I admit that I do cringe a little with the baby talk words.  Smiley Happy

Interesting discussion. Words like hubby, veggies, etc. don't seem like baby talk to me. I've always just thought of them as shortened nicknames for things. Baby talk to me is more like saying one has an "owie" or calling a bump or a bruise a "boo boo" -- something like that. I guess it's the word for which one is substituting and the context to me.

"I could care less"

means you could care less when you mean you COULDN'T care less

couldN'T is correct...about 80% say it incorrectly

  1. I agree with all that has been previously mentioned here's another one I don't get is, so stinking cute what does that even mean?

"It's all good!"  I always wonder what planet the person lives on.  I should move there.  My life has ups and downs.  Most are good, but not everything is.  I find that it's my perspective and what I choose to do in each situation that makes something good or bad.

The first time I heard someone say "It's all good" I had no idea what they meant by that.  And I still don't know what that phrase means!  I think it sounds really stupid.
