Re: What makes "Impossible Meat" look like meat.

I'm old and used to old fashioned foods, I hate the idea that food is being made in test tubes.

You've said before that "everyone is deficient in Vitamin B12:".

Now you say:

<<And as for B12?
Everyone needs that vitamin due to our sanitized food sources, >>

You might want to qualify that claim by saying that "everyone who doesn't eat meat, eggs and dairy foods might be deficient in B12".

@novamc1

Nope....I meant everyone.

I’ve never said ‘everyone is deficient’.

I know many Plant Based eaters who don’t take B12 until their

annual tests reflect it.

Even meat, dairy, egg eaters can be low in B12 due to the sanitized

meat, dairy & eggs.  The way they are raised & manufactured,

if there was any residual B-12 from the dirt, the processing of the

product would sanitize everything from it...for public safety.

Again, we don’t need to eat meat, dairy, eggs to get B12.

The way animals get it is via the minerals in the Earth.

If one is eating meat, dairy, eggs to get B12, you;re basically getting

the same supplement as a vegan/plant based eater is getting.

Animals are given this supplement.

I agree!  It sounds disgusting!  What's the point?  Either eat meat or not.

Why would you want a "burger" that's not meat to look & taste like one?  Just have a veggie burger if you want to stay meatless.

What's the point? Some don't want to eat animals, which I can respect. Also, some cannot eat beef for religious or medical reasons.

I eat beef and I still want to try the Impossible Burger.

I happen to know that Dr. Praegers uses one of the same suppliers that Beyond Meat uses.

I live in a rural area, and yesterday there was a supplement in our shopper, specifically for farmers.  One of the columns was about the new trend for these "meat" substitutes.  It was written by a senior citizen lady, who noted that the ingredients for this "meat" looked a lot like the ingredients for dog food!

Yes, indeed.  I have noticed that as well.

I remember last Fall, when all these various dogfoods were recalled due to the addition of too much vitamin D in the pea protein.  Remember that?
