Thanks guys! I used to never be into interior decorating. I didn't even have curtains in my first place. My sister got me into it and I started to go to High Point with her to look at all the furniture and now I am really into it. THis is my kitchen looking into my sun room where I am now, on the computer and watching TV. We spend a lot of time here becuase it is close to the food!

What did you get in your box right there? Smiley Happy

I can't remember, this pic was taken a while ago. Probably makeup!!

Irish,

Your home is how I imagined. Elegant, distinctive and warm. I love your style. The layout of your kitchen is very inviting and makes me want to cook. Haha, although I will REFRAIN myself!. I love the cornices and coping connecting the cabinets to the ceiling. That must have been a job for the workmen! I love that you can see the outdoors from the kitchen and family room. Yes, being close to food and water is a good thing!

Wow, thank you so much Shoekitty. What a lovely compliment. It was a job for the workman. I redid almost all of the kitchen and I wanted a lot of crown molding. I love it and think it really gives the room some interest. It did have crown molding but we took it out and added much more. lol... I don't have the same stove anymore, I got a new one but you are welcome over any time!

Sox, I love that chair. It looks so rich and elegant.

Thanks ... I've decided to keep this one, lol. I do so love your kitchen cabinets ... wish I'd followed my first inclination to get that color, but let my husband talked me out of it.

No style here. Just don't care for lots of knick knacks, lots of things on the wall or clutter.

So do I ... can't find her on any of the decorating shows anymore, though.

Interesting that I ran across this thread. I'm in the throes of getting just the right leather chair for my living room ... just ordered the "perfect one" yesterday; this is the third try and I'm hoping it's the charm.

SoX

what did you get?

SK ... here is a pic: My LR is traditional ... sofa and chair are beige, beige carpeting and drapes. Three traditional rugs -- varying sizes and colors; I change sofa pillows often, depending on the season.

I LOVE it! That's what I want! Love the color, great styling. Excellent choice!

Re: What is your decorating style?

My friends refer to my place as 'Rivendell'.

To my little Pom Peaches, it's Peaches' Palace, but I'm allowed to live there.

A mix of classic furniture with a modern theme.

No clutter, clean lines in everything. Fresh flowers on the dining room table in a pretty vase.

No desire to impress anyone with anything. If you come to our home, I want you to feel comfortable and come to visit us....not to critique the furnishings, tile floors, or whether we have the latest and greatest of anything.

Re: What is your decorating style?

We are waiting for new living room sofa's to be delivered and it's the first time we will ever have solid colored upholstery. I am bringing in mission/prairie style accents and accessories so that not everything is a chunk of brown and beige.

The rest of the house is homey, comfy country.
