Drinks and hordoeurves - goat cheese with cranberries and a baked brie, spinach dip in pumpernickle bread and an assortment of olives/sliced sausages and some cheeses.
Dinnier is the main attraction, Mr. Turkey - still frozen but coming out to start defrosting in the 'fridge tomorrow. We're having my mothers Italian sausage stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, oven baked sliced sweet potatoes, home made corn bread, rolls, stuffed artichokes, fresh green beans and a salad. If I have enough energy left over on Wednesday I'll whip up the anchovy stuffing for my mom's Italian stuffed peppers.
Dessert is not yet firmed up, going to hit Costo sometime next week.

Ours pretty much never changes, there would mutiny, turkey, stuffing, mashed, gravy, candied sweets, asparagus (Italian style) creamed cabbage, corn pudding, cranberry sauce, rolls, pumpkin & apple pie & turkey cookies (everything homemade) these days do a lot ahead of time, much already in the freezer. Love it!

Whatever the restaurant is serving.
lol Every year after 10 hours straight of cleaning and hosting, we get to feeling the same way! But then we forget and start all over again come November. ![]()

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and @NoelSeven I hope you feel well enough to enjoy your day!
Would you believe I'm not sure of the menu yet?? I had turkey, dressing, mashed, gravy, brussels sprouts, acorn squash and pumpkin pie all planned in my head (it's just DH & myself) but now he's talking standing rib roast and cheesy potatoes. Arghhh, it's a good thing I love him and have a freezer, LOL.
But I don't want to miss out on my beloved dressing - does that go with prime rib? ![]()

Denise - I really think that the dressing can totally go with the beef! Do it, girl! ![]()

As far as I'm concerned everything goes with stuffing . . . even hotdogs . . . ![]()
Go for it!

@AliJoi5 wrote:Oh everyone's holiday menus are making me so ready to mangia! Like most folks, we definitely over do it (and end up painfully regretting it by the end of the night). I often wonder how my poor little boot heels continue to hold me up without snapping in half as the evening wears on. But I digress! We start with an antipast of prosciutto di parma, soppressata, provolone, Sicilian cured olives, grilled ciabatta, butter or seasoned EVOO for dunking, etc. My aunt will, of course, cheerfully and inexplicably put out her celery sticks stuffed with cream cheese, which no one will eat but her. Love ya auntie Lou!
Then we have stuffed whole artichokes (which sound strange, but are traditional Italian-American fare.. and my fave!). The next course is homemade manicotti. Then we move on to more typical American fare. I love turkey, but others in my family don't, so we'll have prime rib with all the fixins... usually mashed potatoes, corn, and broccoli baked with EVOO, garlic, breadcrumbs, and grated parmigiana (the only way I can eat the "vile weed!"). Even though we have no bird, the combo of candied sweet potatoes and homemade stuffing is my favorite, so we do them too. For dessert this year, we're doing real chocolate cream pie (none of that yucky pudding!), blueberry pie, an apple tart, and pumpkin cheesecake. Like many of us, I'm big on doing everything top to bottom from scratch. Last, but not least, copious amounts of good vino! As David says, gobble til ya wobble y'all!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Looks like Snoops and Woodstock have started celebrating early...
@AliJoi5 thank you for the laughs and the description of your holiday fare. It would be a blessing to sit at your table . . . enjoy!

Maybe I'll serve him that crown roast of hot dogs that was popular on one of these threads, LOL.
