Re: What is on your Thanksgiving menu?

I'm helping my mom with Thanksgiving.  We're having Turkey & ham, Baked Dressing, mashed potatoes, Noodles (a must in our family), Green Beans, Corn Casserole, Cheesecake & some other things that my brother/SIL and niece & her husband  are bringing.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, but Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

Re: What is on your Thanksgiving menu?

For me? Pretty much like any other day. My wife is going out to a Buffet Restaurant with her mother and brother. I ain't for spending money going out to feed my face. I also ain't one for standing in line to eat, had all of that I wanted in US Army Mess Halls.

My wife likes eating out and what she spends to do so is just fine with. I am frugal "a cheapskate" only when it  pertains to myself, I ain't into wasting money on myself.

Hey All, enjoy your Thanksgiving Day!

Re: What is on your Thanksgiving menu?

Absolutely no idea. DH has been working out of town since Labor Day and he still doesn't know if he'll be home, depends on how many days off and Michigan winter weather. I imagine I'll know for sure by Wednesday night or Thursday but that will be too late to thaw out turkey I got on sale. 0

Re: What is on your Thanksgiving menu?

My contribution is just my homemade chocolate pie.  It's what everyone always wants me to bring.

We are going to DH's side of the family and will have the normal things but she doesn't want anyone to bring anything.  She likes to do it all, including the clean up.

Then we are headed to my side where we are just doing desserts and drinks because everyone is going someone else during the day. This is the first year my side of the family isn't also doing a huge meal later in the day.

Maybe you should rethink your stand, @hckynutjohn.  I bet your wife and MIL would like to share the holiday meal with you.

I haven't been reading all the updates but am very happy to hear that @hckynutjohn 's wife is well enough to go out to eat.  That is great news.

Hi tansy,

We will probably get together at my mother-in laws apartment later that day. She fell and fractured 2 ribs 2 weeks ago, and she is 90 years old. I am still not recovered from the cellulitis infection in my hand. 5 days on IV antibiotics in the hospital and still on some pretty strong ones now.

She lives about a 5 minute drive from us and we do spend time together, so will wait till both of us get healed more.

Our toilets overflowed during hospital stay and ruined everything in master bedroom/hall.way/carpet and tile. Went through floors into basement and the whole basement is finished. Tore up about 2500sq. ft of carpet and tore off most of drywall ceilings and walls.

I have many thousands of $$$$ in my full home theater and thous ands more in my exercise equipment. And me with only 1 usable hand. Oyyyy what a mess. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
