Re: What is just not worth it to you?

Just about everything is ordered online these days from somewhere. What other people are willing to overpay for affects me not whether it is an online purchase or otherwise.

I wouldn't order chairs or couches that I haven't tested for comfort but many people do, spending thousands. Some people can actually pay premium prices without a care in the world. Loving this America!

Don't buy much of anything here anymore. Biggest reason? I don't like paying state tax when I can buy from other online retailers that do not charge it. Throw in very little free s&h and that pretty much does it for me.

Many things that are no exclusive to QVC I can find at many other online retailers for a cheaper price/no state tax and free s&h, thus no reason to buy it here.

Lotions and potions that I know won't work, and even if they did a little bit I still couldn't justify paying hundreds of dollars for them. And I refuse to pay $100 for a simple pair of sandals!

For me it would be expensive handbags - particularly D & B. A handbag is only for carrying my stuff and not having to pay for advertising those way too expensive bags. I don't really take a handbag into stores, etc - just put a wallet in my jean pocket.

Huge refrigerators, high thread count sheets, costly beauty products, Dyson vacuums (actually anything that is overpriced). While I don't fault those that can afford the high price items, I think there is often a lower priced item that works just as well.

Re: What is just not worth it to you?

Most of the items QVC sells are just not that important purchases for me.

I have beautiful handbags, I have all the kitchen things I need. Jewelry...got that too..and not the faux blah blah bronzo Italian designer knock off stuff either.

I watch sometimes, just to hear the sales pitches...they are so over the top sometimes, it makes me wonder if they are really moving some of this stuff.

Food, Dr. Perricone, single lipsticks that have s&h of over $5, electronics, and luminara candles, which I love but think are way overpriced.

Gazelle77: ""why is it so hard to let go"" idea---- I've had quite a bit of time to think about this after I retired "" twice"" (2 different careers). It's not that you're saying goodbye to the item but that there has been a change of some type ( think new chapter) and it's similar to ""mourning or grieving"" the loss of a known structure or environment. It took me some time to give away my professional business suits and the ""corporate"" jewelry!!!! But how freeing when the last piece found its new home!!! Good luck and keep turning the pages!!!

Re: What is just not worth it to you?

Repeating myself. I no longer have patience with that. But it's not about purchases. On purchases, if you're out of my color or size, that's just not worth it to hang around the item.
