@Venezia, I’m with you. When I moved into my condo in 1994, all the appliances were getting old, but the previous owners had kept all the paperwork so I had good records. First to go was the refrigerator, at 18. Now I don’t remember the brand. Replaced with a Kitchen Aid, still going strong. Then the GE stove, at 25. I am on my third washer and second dryer (donated the first dryer when I got my second replacement washer, as it was old but still working). Kitchen Aid dishwasher died at about 15, replaced with a Maytag that lasted - what was it, 5 years?, died last year. Yep, the motherboard. Never again.
What did I replace ALL these appliances with, courtesy of my local retailer? My appliances tended to die with no notice. I had a child at home and worked full-time, a real panic situation. They came through like a champ every single time, got me fixed up with new appliances right away, delivered and installed. With the exception of the refrigerator, all of my appliances are BOSCH. If I have to replace my refrigerator, it will be with a Bosch. Can’t recommend more highly.
I grew up in a poor family whose appliances HAD to last. Had the same Kenmore washer and dryer until I moved out at 21. But they don’t last like that anymore, a shame.
