I tried to think of one, but couldn't.
This is why I have great compassion for underprivileged kids, kids from divorced homes and those who feel they don't belong.
I worked to better my life and took chances many others might not have the guts to take. It paid off and I am now grateful to say that I have some wonderful memories created in my adulthood.
I always want suffering kids to know that things can get better. It's in their hands.

Riding in my grandpa's air conditioned car. My dad drove old beaters so a shiny new car was exciting to a kid like me.

Only one favorite memory?? Too many good ones.
Christmas season.
My German Shepherd and terrier mix.
Riding my bike from Spring through Fall until it was too cold.

I have lots of childhood memories that make me smile and appreciate who I am.
Tonight I'm remembering a hot summer evening eating with my farm grandparents on the screen porch. Grandma setting a platter of steaming corn on the cob on the table beside one of her fresh made rounds of butter with the flower imprint on the top from her butter press. Due to the heat, Grandma might have cooked a pot of fresh green beans with new potatoes, sliced some red and yellow tomatoes, along with several cucumbers, pulled some green onions from the garden, and set out the meat and biscuits from breakfast, along with the stemmed cut glass bowl of jam or preserves from the refrigerator.
Sunday dinner was always with my maternal grandparents after church. During the summer our local extended family would come over and we'd eat on plywood tables under the big oak tree in the front yard. I can still close my eyes and hear Uncle Westley's deep voice praying before we filled our plates.

I have many happy memories. An early one is when I was 2 years old my Dad came home from work with a box. Inside the box was a little black puppy. We named her Smokey and she lived to be 18. ![]()

i was about 6 in guess. my Dad worked for a men's clothing store on Worth Ave in Palm Beach, FL. We were going to see my Dad one afternoon but he was still at work. Somehow i got away from my Mom and sister. There was a storefront with shuttered windows but a huge "?" on a Purple door.
i just had to go in. Inside there was a bar, i didn't know what it was but it was very dark, sleek and hushed. A friendly bartender invited me to take a seat at the bar. He made me a drink. He said it was a "Horse's Neck". Ginger ale with a Maraschino Cherry and a swizzle stick. for awhile i sat enjoying my cocktail. i knew what they were because my parents went to the dog track where they served cocktails.
i was there for a good while until my mother came in. she acted all friendly with the bartender but let me have it after we left. the name of the bar was Ta Bu. didnt' see what the big deal was. i guess it was wrong for a little girl to go in a bar but when they put ? on doors you know it arouses curiosity.

One memory is this one. I loved dolls, and begged for a specific doll. Can not remember what doll it was. My Mom said not now....
I came home from school one day, and Mom told me to go make my bed ... I went to my room ....and in the bed , tucked under the covers .....was THE DOLL!
It made me so happy! 🥰
