What has your recent experience been with Uber or Lyft? Reviews are troubling. I'd like to know what you found when you used either, especially if you tried either recently.

@Mindy D Ive never used either but I read a lot about them on the NextDoor app. Did you ever join? A great source of local information. Here, I read that Lyft is the most dependable.

I use Uber frequently. I have never had an issue with Uber or Lyft.
If I had any criticism, it would be that the cars are dirty, seats stained, etc.
But, as far as safety, I have had no issues.
The Lyft cars seem cleaner, but I have not used them nearly as much as Uber.

I like Lyft a lot. No complaints here.

We use Uber on occasion. We've never had a complaint. The drivers have either been very friendly or very quiet.
I never use Uber alone. Either with a friend or my husband.

Fortunately, here in the city taxis are plentiful. I do not trust either Uber or Lyft although friends have used both without problems.

I've only done Uber and have no problems and never felt unsafe.
You aren't going to know if you like it until you try it.

@skincaremaven @The most complaints are about booked rides that have drivers just change their minds and then don't show up. Riders complained about being charged for these no show rides. Another area of complaint is that drivers ask how the rider will pay. If a rider says credit card and not cash, the driver won't pick them up. Third most frequent problem is the lack of live customer service a availability with no way to solve problems. There were many billing problems. Logging in is another area of complaint. Updating information or forgotten password fixes are also a big problem. Riders have trouble fixing these problems. I'm currently experiencing this. There were many complaints about the timing of pick ups causing riders to be very late to work and doctor appointments even though the rides were not scheduled at peak times of day. I read reviews in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. I'm wondering how reliable they really are. Reviewers could have slanted reviews because they were dissatisfied and the satisfied people might not be posting reviews.
