Re: What has caused or allowed you to develop patience?

Three life changing events in my life that have reminded me that our time on earth is temporary.     Having a baby who died, being told I have cancer, and watching my mother die of cancer at the same time.

Re: What has caused or allowed you to develop patience?

Patience is not my strong point. Some goals take time to reach or must be put aside for a time for good reason.  That is no problem to me.  When people need me to be there for them, I don't fret, either.

But when an attainable goal can't be reached, especially at work, because other folks are dragging their feet, then I do feel exasperated.

I never lost patience with my Dad when he was ill for so many years with early-onset Alzheimer's. But I do lose patience with obstructive co-workers sometimes.

I am impatient with myself rather often, too!

With maturity comes patience . Some people never mature and so some never develop patience.

Re: What has caused or allowed you to develop patience?

My patience came thru living my life, caring for aging family, being married to a man who is a polar opposite of me, raising two children, working 30+ years, and realizing that everything is not all about me.  I don't sweat the small stuff.

As a teenager I had a devastating medical diagnosis.  My life was forever changed.  Once I accepted the change I had to work my way back to a new normal.  Physical therapy was long and excruitiating at times.  I had no choice but to learn how to be patient.
