I frequently post links and they are not removed so they are allowed.

No, no, no! Not ever have you hurt my feelings or angered me! Banish that thought, pleeeaaase! ![]()
It's weird, but at times I've wished darned hard for that Ignore Button, and then out of nowhere a couple weeks later, I find myself giving that same poster a heart for a post. Anyone who doesn't have a very short memory, or forgiveness in their heart, will have a difficult time on these boards (even with some heavy moderation). We just have to know how to "Let It Go!"

Very thoughtful posts, @MaggieMack and @MacDUFF.

@MacDUFF, I am still laughing over all of that... it was good fun and no harm done. Nope I didn't see what you said about my turkey leg, LOL ... Yes, we needed a good laugh and we did a fine, fine job of doing just that!!
You did nothing wrong, evidently our good humor (ice cream forgive the pun) isn't appreciated by all.........

@dooBdoo No, I cannot locate the thread so I believe my post and the thread are now poofed. It would be helpful if the moderators would include the post in their announcement that a post has been "moved" in order that we could learn from that "offense."
BTW, this thread has gone off topic but hasn't been poofed.

@Lovethesea, maybe no one will notice? LOL

@I miss @Kenyai also...
Agreed... The seemingly precipitous poofing of what was nothing more than a handful of harmless, humorous posts felt uneven, unnecessary, a bit humorless and frankly a bit arrogant... There was no discussion of political or religious subject matter and while there was a tad of sarcasm involved, 'the standards' would not appear to have been violated... The actions felt unduly harsh.
You cannot blame the moderators. It's the posters who insist on pounding the Report Inappropriate feature whenever they feel the slightest bit threatened.
bahaha I'd like to see a running tally of the reports and by whom, kinda like the hearts ![]()

@nun ya, that would be funny. I'd love to see that myself. LOL

@Say Nay In my experience, it definitely depends on the content of the link. Also, I discovered yesterday that 2 other persons' posts that mentioned religious names in reference to refugee relocation were poofed. I find that it is extremely difficult to discuss Paris and the resulting aftermath without appearing to be "political." At the same time, some "political" posts are allowed to remain...

Thanks, @Lovethesea. Actually, when the threads/posts are "moved" they are located in an area in which only the moderators can still read them. So, as I suggested in another thread, when we're really concerned if we contact them by email soon after the fact and tell them exactly which thread or post, they can review it and sometimes they've been known to reinstated threads or posts.
Regarding off-topic, I guess the point isn't getting across. The flow of this thread is, in general, all one subject, about moderators and moderation. Side-tracking a thread that was supposed to be about moderation of the forums with numerous images, links, and jokes about ice cream and other foods isn't related at all to the topic and that sort of thing is considered flooding, widely O/T, and disrespectful of others. (And it has nothing to do with people having or not having a sense of humor, by the way.
It has everything to do with taking responsibility for our own actions.)
