Maybe some posters have control issues
and want to direct how everything gets
done here by the Webbies? Is that why
we see the same ol
complaints repeated over and again?
I re read the thread and didn't see posters
saying the mods
are ALWAYS right or wrong
or NEVER right or wrong.
Maybe we need a daily vent and rant
and fuss and fume and complaint dept
thread lol.
Why post here if it's so horrible?
😕

QVC has guidelines; and they should be followed by everyone, including the moderators.

I liked him....hope I've just been missing his shifts.
Hi september, I like him too.
I am sorry to see that a pleasant thread you started has morphed elsewhere.

Ita! That's why WE are responsible for what WE post
as well.👍
So, where did posters say the mods are never wrong?
tia.

@orangegarnet wrote:@MaggieMack, I agree.. I am very concerned about the poofing of threads being poofed.. Sorry to the OP of that thread, I mentioned ice cream and it was actually fun...
@I miss @Kenyai also...
Agreed... The seemingly precipitous poofing of what was nothing more than a handful of harmless, humorous posts felt uneven, unnecessary, a bit humorless and frankly a bit arrogant... There was no discussion of political or religious subject matter and while there was a tad of sarcasm involved, 'the standards' would not appear to have been violated... The actions felt unduly harsh.
You cannot blame the moderators. It's the posters who insist on pounding the Report Inappropriate feature whenever they feel the slightest bit threatened.
Hi, Gato! Just my guess, but it likely only takes one report to get the attention of the moderators as opposed to "pounding." And I doubt anyone here feels threatened by posts.
The moderators probably start to watch a thread if they get one report... or if certain key words get their notice with no reports being made.
The thread last night actually was a question and comment directed to the moderators, so obviously they already were aware of it and it's possible that no one reported anything.
(Not that it matters much, but for the record I didn't report the O/T activity -- I just thought the thread was interesting and had hoped it could be allowed to continue). Personally, I think we should take responsibility for what we post instead of trying to shift the "blame" to others. I guess I don't understand why we rail against policies we agreed to abide by when we registered to use the forums (rhetorical pondering).
This is a really good post.
I think that you bring up some good points.
I agree with you in that I am thinking that perhaps some words in some posts may get noticed automatically, that has nothing to do with anyone reporting anything.
I am usually rather puzzled when people are thinking that someone is always reporting something. I am personally thinking that that may not be the case.

She game me a name too common to misspell. Maybe I need a nickname
You're good! You have a home named after you in the "Batman" series, called "Wayne Manor." Now that's cool! LOL! ![]()

@Toppers Interesting! You just placed a

@Wayne-QVC Yes, Wayne, with the events of last Friday, we need to reflect on being kinder and gentler and to quit the quibbles. BTW, you seem just as nice as keyai. Thanks for participating with us posters.

I feel I have to weigh in here...I may have had a part in getting Maggie's thread poofed, but I'm not quite sure how. Most of my attempts at some lightheartedness were directly related to "poofing." I think, as someone alluded to downthread, that it's nearly impossible not to go "off-topic" here and there, now and then.
Someone posted that you couldn't even discuss vanilla without going off-topic or without having disagreements. A post I thought was quite correct and funny. So, I responded that vanilla was superior to chocolate, just sayin', which ok I thought was funny, but which I get that others may not have thought so or maybe didn't catch the drift.
One of my posts had a link to an article/debate from bing about vanilla ice cream being superior to chocolate...said post was immediately poofed, which I actually agreed with...althooooooooooo, why are some links allowed and others are not??
For me, the whole thing boils down to not knowing the nuances of what is acceptable and what is not, all their guidelines notwithstanding.
Anyway, I hope orangegarnet saw my post to her about the turkey leg...I was LMBO (vanilla ice cream dribbling down my chin!), which laughter I sorely needed because all the insanity in the world is bringing me down...I really have to be careful of despair.
Finally, my humble apologies to Maggie if I did or said anything (at any time) to hurt your feelings or anger you. You are one of my favorite posters!
Back to work...carry on.
Hey @MacDUFF, (and @Suziepeach, @MaggieMack, and with a cc to @Keyai... just because...) I don't think your remarks specifically ended the thread. My personal view is that they began to see the whole thing as one of the infamous 'challenging the moderation' things...
I think I was the one that sort of initiated the whole "vanilla' discussion and while I did so to make a point, I also felt it was done in a totally innocuous way, using humor rather than direct confrontation. For whatever reason, my first post suggesting the 'flavor' topic and most of my subsequent posts, also on that topic, were poofed, some as I was in the process of responding to others of you who were on the same wave-length. At the end of the day, they're nothing more than thoughts on a retailers message board, but I truly failed to see any viable rationale behind their deletion other than because "he could" and because at some level a bit of fun was being poked at the process. So what? Lighten up. None of us was attacking each other, nor were we debating verboten topics... It seems clear that some of the moderators exercise a bit more flexibility than do others, some appear to have thicker skin than do others and some clearly appear to have a more wide ranging sense of humor than do others. I guess it is what it is, for better and sometimes, unfortunately, for worse...

@Allegheny AWWW..What a nice thing to say. I truly have a
and I hope everyone understands that I'm only doing my job when I have to moderate/delete posts in the community forums. I try my best to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I hope everyone can truly understand the reasoning behind why a thread/post is deleted. I agree with you, we really need to reflect on being kinder and gentler. I hope everyone enjoys posting today and I look forward to reading everone's interesting threads.
