BTW, this thread has gone off topic but hasn't been poofed.
Thanks, @Lovethesea. Actually, when the threads/posts are "moved" they are located in an area in which only the moderators can still read them. So, as I suggested in another thread, when we're really concerned if we contact them by email soon after the fact and tell them exactly which thread or post, they can review it and sometimes they've been known to reinstated threads or posts.
Regarding off-topic, I guess the point isn't getting across. The flow of this thread is, in general, all one subject, about moderators and moderation. Side-tracking a thread that was supposed to be about moderation of the forums with numerous images, links, and jokes about ice cream and other foods isn't related at all to the topic and that sort of thing is considered flooding, widely O/T, and disrespectful of others. (And it has nothing to do with people having or not having a sense of humor, by the way.
It has everything to do with taking responsibility for our own actions.)
@dooBdoo Being that this thread was entitled "What happened to Kenyai...the moderator?" I view it as being off topic.

@Suziepeach, As we talked about in another thread, anytime posters are trying to have a discussion and it's interrupted with significantly O/T posts and images it's considered flooding and disrespectful. (As I tried to explain in your other thread, it's a technique used by experienced internet trolls when they want to derail a thread and attempt to have it closed or deleted. They use this method because it works.)
Notice when people go O/T they usually apologize for doing so?
Think about the reason they do that -- it's because we know, innately, that it's inconsiderate to some extent, even when it's only one O/T comment.
hth.

One of the problems of moderating forums is there are degrees of disrespecting the standards. If the O/T is extremely distant or unrelated to the topic at hand, it's considered to be discourteous of other posters. It's part of internet etiquette, and I suppose if folks haven't posted elsewhere over time they're unaware of the nuances.
Rather than continue to belabor that particular point, let's agree to disagree.

It would appear that the nuances cause the confusion as to what is, indeed, acceptable here. Yes, let's agree to disagree.

Yes, fear the Wayne!
That's the funniest thing I've read in a while.
Sorry I missed Wayne's slice & dice.

Except for the occasional post that doesn't get any comments or one comment, I can't think of any threads that stay exactly on topic for more than 3 posts.
Once it gets to "hi, I haven't seen you in a while...." it all turns to mush.
I mean, Pancake had her kittens, what? 8 years ago? Are they still technically kittens?

I apologize sincerely to each and everyone for disupting a thread last night ......... I am not an internet troll and do not need to be told by anyone how to post.. if I am that bad, then a moderator can tell or ban me.. I do not appreciate being spoken to like I am a child.. I know the rules/standards.......... it's reasons like this that make people not want to post anymore.........
To the ones I cut up with last night, thanks for the laughs.. the turkey leg and vanilla rules!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Now BB patrol?

This threads about mods and moderation.
I think the mods have a tough job that I
have no place judging or mocking them.
😊
Also I think sometimes posters want to break
the rules and blame everybody else for what
they actually did wrong themselves.
Fwiw I don't appreciate it when threads get bombed
with OT pix and posts but jmho.
😊
