@orangegarnet wrote:I apologize sincerely to each and everyone for disupting a thread last night ......... I am not an internet troll and do not need to be told by anyone how to post.. if I am that bad, then a moderator can tell or ban me.. I do not appreciate being spoken to like I am a child.. I know the rules/standards.......... it's reasons like this that make people not want to post anymore.........
To the ones I cut up with last night, thanks for the laughs.. the turkey leg and vanilla rules!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Now BB patrol?
Nobody spoke to you like a child.
Nobody called you a troll or told you how to
post, and I don't see any "BB patrol" here
people are having a conversation on the
topics. ETA Isn't that allowed?
With all due respect acting
like a child and playing victim
all the time is
unattractive and posters get tired
of seeing it imho.

I was was the one who started the thread and just want you to know that no apologies are needed for me! I had stepped out for a while and just had a moment to read through the humorous posts when it went poof. No harm no foul. To ANYone! ![]()

This probably won't stay up long, but it annoys me that people insist that the moderators have never made a mistake.
Everyone makes mistakes, posters for sure, including me--no argument. But I think they have made a couple of breaches of the guidelines themselves in the last few days. They were deleting posts that were not in violation of the guidelines. If they just want a fan fest, they will soon have no BB at all.
I should add that I think they do a great job overall. That doesn't mean that every decision they make is correct. It's their BB and correct or not the decision stands--just as with referrees at a game. But .... to repeat, it's silly to suggest that they never have poofed unnecessarily.
Most of us have scratched our heads about some of the decisions. One that was deleted was not political or religious or off topic--it was one of my posts. Their reason given was that it was "controversial," which is code for, people pressed inappropriate. (I was _agreeing with another poster_ who was arguing for respectful discourse.)
Another from a different poster was also deleted, and there was nothing wrong with it, either. This was within the same period.
I think the mods are sometimes over responsive to the "Inappropriate" button and that posters who know this are trying to use it to move the conversation their way. By leaning on the button.
A poster named Rapunzel used to do this (and it was open, she talked about it--no secret) and she was finally banned, I think.
Now the "I Object" contingent are being given veto power over posts. That does not suit my sense of a community that I am interested in being involved with.

Did you know you can correct Keyai's name in your original post's title by using the same edit feature that is used to correct what is in the body of a post?

With all due respect though who said mods
NEVER made a mistake
or EVERY decision is right?
I read through the thread again after
I posted and it looks like a lot of overreactions
and exaggerations and maybe too much thin skin,
jmho though. I've been poofed a lot
but I guess it's not that big of a deal to me.

I think it's been especially pleasant here the last few days.

I guess it depends on how you define mistake.
I define it as making a call with the information they have at the time.
Believe me, once they get to know us a little better and how we roll, our trends, vices and penchant for all things off topic, I think moderation will go a lot smoother.
They already know when the word "Shawn" is typed that that is a Defcon readiness situation:
DEFCON 5 Normal peacetime readiness
DEFCON 4 Normal, increased intelligence and strengthened security measures
DEFCON 3 Increase in force readiness above normal readiness
DEFCON 2 Further Increase in force readiness, but less than maximum readiness
DEFCON 1 Maximum force readiness.

Hi @september,
I'm still here! My shift is during normal business hours but I am a bit of a work-a-holic so it is not unusual for me to login in during the evening or over the weekend. My job is to make the Community experience the best it can be and increase the participation. Which means I have a lot of work to do with our technical engineers behind-the-scenes to address problems you have with the platform today.
Thanks to others in this thread for the kind words about me. It is always nice to be liked! Though you might like me less than the moderation team if you knew I am one of the few "responsible" for the overall Community experience.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!
@Keyai, it's great to hear from you. I wish you the very best of luck in your new QVC position!! ![]()
