This might have been just a Pennsylvania thing but I remember loving Ring Bologna when I was a kid. It came in a large ring just like sausage and you could cut it and put it on a cracker or just eat it plain.
I've never seen it any place else but PA. I haven't had it in over 50 years. It probably wasn't the least bit good for you but man did I like it as a kid.
Anyone PA residents or former residents that remember Ring Bologna?

I miss my Nonna's polenta! It was made in the northern Italian method, with meat gravy and sharp cheddar style cheese. I don't know what kind of cheese she used, but the combination was amazing! She used veal chops, but I don't eat veal anymore, so I'll never have this wonderful dish again. It was amazing!

What I really miss is my mother's cooking. Everything she made was delicious and homemade. Pierogies, cabbage rolls, porcupine balls, tuna noodle casserole (her's was different) tuna salad (she made a homemade dressing for it and added olives and walnuts), Her dressing in the turkey, fried cabbage, oatmeal-chocolate chip-banana-walnut cookies. So many more and I miss them all.
One very simple thing that I miss is peanut butter on bread. Loved it as a snack and I am now allergic to peanuts.
Will I just made myself very hungry and I just ate an hour ago!

Lobster and sitting down, cleaning and eating fresh-steamed crabs from the Chesapeake!

Yum.
That's the stuff. I remember my mom would occasionally make me a small platter of bologna with cheese and crackers as an after school snack.

@J Town Girl Sure, it's still around. Plain and garlic flavor. My husband loves it. I buy it in the summertime. The grandkids put it on a hook to catch fish and my dogs would go crazy as soon as they smelled it.
I also see it cut up and placed on a cheese plate with crackers.q
